Kristina dedicated a week in Washington, D.C., passionately advocating for special education and the rights and safety of children with disabilities. Her commitment to raising awareness and influencing lawmakers highlights the importance of ensuring that all children receive the support they need to thrive. Through her efforts, she aims to create a brighter future for those with disabilities, ensuring their voices are heard in the halls of Congress.
•The IDEA Full Funding Act creates a 10-year glide path to fully fund IDEA’s Part B (ages 5-21).
•RISE ensures all students with disabilities can use their IEP/504 Plan from high school to demonstrate their disability and access needed accommodations in college.
•KASSA would prohibit seclusion, chemical, prone, supine restraint, prevent/reduce use of physical restraint, and provide funds to train school teams.
